Christmas is here again!

Happy Holidays!

Lately I have been working on more of those awesome minions.  Once I finish attaching all of the pieces for the last one I will not be making any more for a while! I have so many other things that I would like to make and I have gotten pretty bored with making so many of the same things.

I did have to take a break from this last minion that I am working on because I had someone who wanted to buy a pair of the Doctor Who Tardis fingerless gloves that I have been working on perfecting. I think I like the results for what I came up with! Here is the finished results:

Now I just have to make some time to make some for myself!

I also had been planning on making a snowman for a family friend for awhile now as a gift for Christmas. I worked on it yesterday and today(pretty last minute I know and I actually have one other gift I am planning on making tomorrow!) I didn't use a pattern and I wasn't quite sure if I got the hat quite right at first but with it all put together I am happy with the results! It's hard to see in the picture but I used Red Heart Holiday for the body of the snowman to make it a  little bit sparkly.

I am now going to attempt to make Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. to give as a gift to my friends!

Craft day on Saturday!

At the library that I work at we are having a booksale/craft day. The idea was a combined idea of mine and another coworker, so I am hoping there will be a good turnout. It is for the Friends of the library so hopefully we will be able to raise some money and have this be the first of many craft days! I am going to be doing a crochet demonstration and possible showing people simple stitches if they really want to give it a try. I made a couple of the bears from my last post. Right now I am working on making a bunch of coffee cup cozies I found from the website Crochet Every Day. They are really simple and can decorated in anyway you like!

I am going to make some plain ones and then give the flowers a try. Every time I have tried making flowers in the past, they didn't work out, but I have gotten a lot better at crochet(at least I think I have!).

I am also thinking of making another Psych Pineapple. Luckily I have tomorrow off because that is my last day to make some of these things. I had only been planning on making the one teddy bear but now that I have so many ideas I feel like I need to make more for Saturday!

Teddy Bear!

So I decided to create this crocheted bear! It only took me a couple of days but I came up with my own pattern for this bear. This is what I came up with!

I am pretty happy with what I came up with! I also just finished another minion. This time I made with one eye. I have two or three more that I have to make for people but for now I am going to take a break from making some minions!

I think I am now going to try to come up with some sort of doll pattern. But I have many ideas to choose from for my next project!

MinionsX3

So I have been working on making these three minions for friends of mine and here they are finally
completed!

It took awhile for me to make these, because I had to take a little break. I have 2 more that I need to make and then I am hoping to try something new!

Since it's getting pretty close to Halloween I have been looking at Halloween crochet projects and I have found some pretty cute things.!

Here is a pretty cute Halloween pumpkin house, a Halloween candy dish, and a really cute Halloween wreath. These are just some of the many cute things I would love to make. This makes it very difficult to choose what to make next!

New finished crochet projects!

I have finished a few projects since my last post on here!

I came up with this pattern to make a pineapple with Psych written on it! This is from my absolute favorite show Psych! ( I highly recommend this show. It is pretty much full of awesomeness!)

Anyway! Here is the pineapple:

I also created this Paddington Bear using this awesome patter by Yellow, pink and sparkly!
Lastly I made this Minion from the movie Despicable Me using the pattern by All About Ami!
I absolutely love this minion! I can't wait to make more of them!

And now I just have to decide what to make next!

Crochet Unicorn

This is a unicorn that I created using Little Yarn Friends crochet pattern!

I think that it turned out pretty well! I made this for someone at work. She said that her daughter likes  The Last Unicorn.

Now i just have to decide what to make next! I think I am going to either try another pattern from Little Yarn Friends or I might make a koala that I found on Pinterest. I also am thinking of making a Pineapple with PSYCH written on it because that is pretty much my favorite show!

Doctor Who!

I love watching Doctor Who and I found a pattern on Ravelry (a great website!) for a weeping angel! This is what I made:

I think that I did pretty well with it. It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It also a lot cuter than these scary ones from the show!

Not sure why I can't get rid of that weird gap between the words and this terrifying picture. But anyway I am still working on that catbus, but I am getting there! I have most of the pieces made for it so now I am going to work on putting some of the pieces together now!

I wish that I could be crocheting all the time now that I have found so many different patterns on Pinterest lately, but of course I was doing too much in a day and started to get some pain in my hands and wrists. I don't know how people are able to crochet so much!

I had started working on the catbus from My Neighbor Totoro awhile ago but I still have not been able to finish them yet. I am making three of them and there are quite a lot of pieces needed! When I had shown the pattern to people at work, they loved it and so two of them are for people at work and one is for me!

One project that i did finish recently was a blanket for someone at work who is getting married in June, so as part of her gift for the little wedding shower we gave her I thought it would be nice to make her a blanket. It almost hadn't been finished in time but I stayed up late to get it done and this is what it looks like:

The pictures don't look all that good because I took pictures with my iPod. This is one of the types of shell stitches that I found in a book that I bought full of crochet patterns. I think that it turned out pretty well.

This next picture is of a blanket that I made a couple of months ago when my friends bought their first(and probably only!) house. The colors are slightly hard to see but they are purple, pink, orange, green, black and white. I wanted to combine their favorite colors together in a blanket and at first I wasn't sure how I was going to put purple pink, orange, and green together but I love how it came out. This has been only the second blanket that I have made and it is a variation on granny squares. Instead of a square the stitch just goes across the row as you can see here:

Currently I am working on this blanket:

Its not very big so it should be a good lap blanket. I meant for it to be a little bit wider but I am still learning! Oh and that is also my yarn in a mess but once I finish this white section I will roll up the yarn!

My Neighbor Totoro

I have found some of the most creative projects involving the characters from the movie My Neighbor Totoro. If you have never seen it, well you should go out and get it. It is a great movie.

The first project that I found was a large stuffed Totoro, a pattern created by the same person who made the adorable octopus I made last weekend. That person has a youtube vlog, with the name Yarnyard. The creations he comes up with are just amazing!

So this is the project I am currently working on, and so far I have just made the body and one of the ears! Unfortunately I have been crocheting for too many hours recently, so I need to try to force myself to take breaks so that I don't hurt my hands and wrist.

The second project that I found is the awesome cat bus that is shown in the film.

I really hope to make this project by Sharon Ojala of Amigurumi To Go and the smaller Totoros in the future!

UPDATE 4/3/13

I finished making my Totoro! All of the sewed on pieces are a little crooked but that's OK, I think it came out pretty good for my second pattern of amigurumi!

Amigurumi Octupus

Here a couple of adorable octopi that I made this past weekend! The blue one was the first that I made and I made the purple one for my sister.

I followed this pattern which I found on Yarnyard's video channel on youtube. I find it so interesting how creative people can be, in the description for this video he wrote that he created this pattern while he was creating the video. That just takes some talent!
I need to take a few days off after making these because they took a little bit of time and of course my wrist has started to hurt! I can't wait till I can make some more cute little creatures!

First Project Finished!

I finally had finished my first crochet project ever, even though I have been crocheting for a few years now. I think the reason I never felt motivated to finish the blankets I had been working on before is because they had been really simple and I had been only using double crochets. So every time I went to work on them I would get bored. So I found a different stitch to try and it is called the Daisy stitch. It is very simple to do and here is the website I found it on: Daisy Crochet Stitch. I ended up making this blanket in about 2 weeks and in this case I had a goal for what I would use it for. It is for me to use at work because for awhile the heat had been on the fritz, and it could get pretty cold.

Anyway here is the final project!

The color for it doesn't look right so here is another picture that I think it looks more like the color its supposed to be and it also shows the stitch better:

I think the color is Pretty Pink? by Red Heart and then white for the border. For the border I had done just a simple single crochet around!
